Who runs Self Made Customs, Inc.? --- Trae (the owner - he still works Full-Time for AT&T) and Kris (his wife - she runs the day-to-day operations). Period. That’s it! Update December 2009: Trae plans to quite AT&T in February 2010, and Dalton and Kobie (our kids) have begun to show interest in the business...they now weed stickers, embroider hats, and help out at shows.

What does KIK stand for? --- KIK stands for Kustomz Ink Klothing. We started out wanting Customs, Inc. for our business name (since we specialize in custom single orders), but when they told us we couldn't have the Inc. without incorporating, we decided on Kustomz Ink. THEN everyone that saw it written on a t-shirt would ask if it was a tattoo shop (apparently because Trae and I both have tattoos), so we added Klothing on the end of it. So now you know the whole story behind our name!

What's this I hear about new printing equipment? --- We are now better than ever with state-of-the-art equipment! Our new machine has excellent detail and prints images reminiscent of vintage t-shirts. It is inkjet technology that prints directly onto the t-shirt. We also do traditional screen-printing on some items.

How do you ship the orders? --- Shipping is now calculated using real-time shipping rates that are based on the actual weight of the items you are purchasing...USPS Priority Mail or UPS...the choice is now yours! If you would like to pick up your order at a show, let me know, we will be happy to refund the shipping charges to you!

How soon after I place an order will it be shipped? --- T-Shirts, hats, and beanies...usually within 1 week. Hoodies...usually within 2 weeks. Dickies items...usually within 2-3 weeks.

Why does it take 2-3 weeks to get Dickies clothing? --- Because there is no way we can keep all sizes, colors, and styles in stock; and they typically take 7-10 business days to get the blank item to us, then we have to embroider it and ship it out to you. Update December 2009: Beginning in 2010, we plan to keep BLACK Dickies items (jackets and work shirts mainly) in stock to cut down on turnaround waiting time.

What brand of t-shirts do you use? --- We mainly use 6.1 oz. 100% Preshrunk Cotton Gildan T-Shirts. We recently started using premium t-shirts, they are 4.1 oz. 100% Cotton, and made by a company called Alternative. Update October 2009: Due to the overwhelming request of 3XL and 4XL sizes, we are in the process of changing the premium t-shirts over to Anvil 5 oz. 100% Organic Cotton.

What happens if I'm not completely satisfied with my order? --- We stand behind our clothing 100 percent. If you purchase an item and you are not happy with it FOR ANY REASON, please contact us so we can take care of it!!

Do you do Bulk Orders? --- Not currently, although we plan on offering bulk order pricing again in 2010. Although, our specialty is, and always has been, CUSTOM SINGLE ORDERS.
